Q. Tell Me about Yourself

Jung Hee Wang is a choreographer, Korean traditional dancer, and a teaching artist. Based in Busan, she is dedicated to creative work and Korean traditional dance. She has devised various teaching methods for general schools to help students easily understand and access to dance as an art genre. She also works for special schools for students with disabilities to encourage students to enjoy and experience diverse artistic experiences through experimenting their body movements.


Q. What Is Your Driving Force or Inspiration of Your Practice?

Nature is the inspiration for my creative work. And, family is my driving force.

A teaching artist is a person who incorporates one’s artistic capabilities into arts education while continuing artistic activities as an artist.


Q. What is the Metaphor, the Right Word, for your Practice?
And Why?

Four seasons. This is because my practice is constantly in transformation and consistent with the principles of the universe.


Q. What Do Colleagues Mean to You?

My colleagues are the members of my dance company and my fellow teaching artists. Colleagues are the artists I met in college, having the same major, and people who are strength to each other and motivate one another to try something new.
