Jee Hyun Shin is a mother of three children and a teaching artist. Ever since she became a mother, she started to ponder what arts education can do to make a better world for our children. In the arts education field, respecting each students’ innate uniqueness and individuality, she empowers them to grow into a creative, free human being embodying both rationality and emotions.
Emotions. Happiness, sadness, joy, anger. All of my emotions evolve into something else that inspires me and becomes my driving force. With these emotions, I transform the inspirations they give into my practice in my creative process and education field.
I am barely working on my creative work currently, but I hope to do so as an artist while working in the education field. I want the boundary between my education field and my creative work to be dissolved so that I can practice both as my own arts education.
The wind. Wind shows its presence indirectly through the movements of objects. It cannot be seen but anyone can feel its presence and power.
Colleagues are people who walk together looking in the same direction. As a person who dreams of arts that can change the world, I think everyone who is reading this right now is my colleague.
