Na Hyun Kim is a teaching artist in Daegu-Gyeongbuk. She likes enjoying arts and continues to explore the interesting dynamic between life and arts with arts and culture education. Her practice of arts and cultures education aims to be a channel to convey everydayness and aesthetic through arts in this world of unpredictability.
It’s “people.” People like children, colleagues, friends, and many more who I have met whether by chance or by fate, interesting stories engendered from people’s interaction with one another, and the gap created by individual differences. People and their stories of lives such as these are the inspiration of my practice.
I want to be a teaching artist who keeps a garden of arts. Just like an old garden where one can feel the passing of the time, I want my garden of arts to be full of arts that I have taken care of over time.
I would like to spread the warmth of life and warm energy of arts in my garden.
Nature. Like nature clear from a touch of artificiality, I pursue nature-like, natural arts. As I continue working in arts education, I want to become a teaching artist who reflects our daily life by fostering arts and life to influence one another naturally without distinguishing arts from education and vice versa.
For me, colleagues are those who I take a walk with. We may seem to walk almost indifferently to each other, but I can keep walking if they are on my side.
