Q. What is “[Im]possible Dialogue”?

“[Im]possible Dialogue” is an experience of numerous failures we encounter as dialogues in arts and education is being ceaselessly deconstructed and reconstructed. To collect and expand these experiences, our team opened a public workshop called “Width.” In “Width,” we are conversing with artists of various genres, focusing on the concept of “Here and now” and using art language. In “Depth” sessions, where we will expand our experiments and demonstrate the “[im]possibility of dialogues” with art language.

Q. What kind of people, on what common ground, came together as <Individual Common>?

Five people met at a study group to indentify and extend the value and direction of arts education through teaching artists’ voices. We are an organizer, artists, and researchers, and came together as <Individual Common> members. We are currently working on exploring “[Im]possible Dialogue.” Pondering upon arts and culture education interactive through art language, we want to weave our exploration and examination of it into practice.

Q. What is the final mission for <Individual Common>?

Through the process of expanding individual art language, with fellow teaching artists, we would like to continue questioning and exploring arts and culture education we are practicing.

Q. Through what activities will <Individual Common> interact?

After having three sessions of “Width” to understand what mutual interaction through art language is, we will have “Depth” sessions, a gathering for communication and networking to develop and expand art language. With participants we meet in “Width” sessions, we will continue “Depth” to do action research. You can find more information on our digital archive channel.
